Real Estate Appraiser resources for New Hampshire
Real Estate Appraiser Information for the State of New Hampshire
Real estate appraisers are required to be licensed, per Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) of 1989. This act required that each of the states establish an agency for the licensure, certification, and regulation of appraisers.
In New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Real Estate Appraiser Board is in charge of this oversight.
There are four classifications of real estate appraiser in the State of New Hampshire. These classifications are:
- Apprentice Real Estate Appraiser (Trainee)
- Licensed Residential Real Estate Appraiser
- Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser
- Certified General Real Estate Appraiser
Those new to a career in real estate appraisals must begin as a Apprentice Real Estate Appraiser (Trainee). There is no experience required. However, it is necessary to complete the state required coursework to become a Apprentice Real Estate Appraiser. The trainee must then work under a supervisor for a specified number of hours in order to be eligible to become a licensed or certified appraiser.
